I first heard about QIDA while shopping for a rug at an Associate's store. I enquired about joining and was welcomed to go along to one of the product night events as a guest. It was fabulous! Apart from the great information about the products on the night, I found a network of Decorators that were open and interactive with each other which is one of the reasons why I am now a member. The information compiled on suppliers and trades people is comprehensive, plus the ongoing support all the members give to one another only strengthens the Decor Community.

With great pleasure I recommend Chris Gilmour from Island Living Interiors. We purchased lounge and coffee tables for our living areas and needed help with placement and how to pull the room together with existing furniture. Chris quickly identified opportunities to better use our spaces and turned a disused living space into a useable and stylish living room.
She captured the essence of our home and personal taste perfectly that integrated seamlessly with the other rooms in our house keeping in mind traffic flow through these rooms. Chris skilfully used our glass pieces as the basis for a colour palette and found complimentary fabrics for the cushions, dining chair covers, wing back chair and ottoman, together with unique art work.
Chris saved us so much time by her ability to source everything from industry suppliers and provide products not known to us and in doing so worked well within our budgetary requirements.
Our experience with Chris has been nothing short of wonderful and I would highly recommend her services for any interior design project large or small.
I initially joined QIDA as a student, to meet and learn from established designers, and to be a breast of everything that was happening within the industry. Throughout my research, I found QIDA to be a proactive organization within the design community, offering all its members a valuable support system of guidance and knowledge. Three years on, I loved the organization so much; I volunteered to become part of the QIDA Committee, who continually promote the best of Queensland design. Belonging to QIDA has given me invaluable insight into the design industry, as well as long lasting friendships.

It had never occurred to me to work with an interior designer before, but within 20 minutes of entering our house, Marina Hirst Interiors had transformed 2 rooms simply through moving and re-positioning existing furniture. Whilst advising on furniture and fabrics to update our living areas, Marina managed to engage my husband in the process as well, getting him on board with the selection and decision making which was quite a feat! Marina has been incredibly patient working with us as we changed our minds and asked to see more samples in different prices ranges. Her ability to provide recommendations that were in line with what we liked yet added something completely new to our house was amazing. Marina is a talented individual, and a natural at interior design - we loved having her in our home, not only because of the transformations she has been able to make, but because of her personal, practical and fun approach!
I have recently built my own hair salon which has been a dream of mine for a long time. I had a rough idea of what look I was after but felt I needed a professional opinion to help guide me and keep me on the right track. Tonya was just the person I was looking for. We would meet for regular discussions and did a lot of shopping together for furniture and accessories. I am absolutely thrilled with my new salon and feel I couldn't of done it without Tonya’s (Style Elements Interiors) help and her creative fun approach. I thank her for all her time and care she gave me to help make a dream of mine come true.
